Beginner-investing checklist
Find the questions you need to answer before putting money at risk.
First-time investors who want a decision process rather than a product tip.
Use your own notebook or print this page. These are writing prompts, not an online form: nothing you write on your copy is sent to Rudi.
Your circumstances
What is the money for? When might you need it? Are essential bills and debt payments covered? What accessible savings do you have?
What you are considering
What does the investment hold? What are the charges? How can you withdraw or sell? Could you cope with a fall in value?
The final checks
Check the firm and its permissions with the FCA; understand which protections apply; read current account and tax rules. Record anything you still cannot explain and pause before buying.
What to do with your notes
Circle one question you can answer next. If the exercise reveals a problem you cannot resolve, use the support linked in the investing pathway.
